Unfortunately, this error is far from rare as there are so many scams on the Internet about purebred animals.
In the town of Dampmart (Seine-et-Marne), a woman decided to buy a Bengal cat on the Leboncoin classifieds site. Unfortunately, nothing will go as planned …
A well-rehearsed scam
In 2017, this woman had already used the classifieds site to buy her first cat of the same breed. Wanting to find him a little companion, she decided to repeat the experience last December.
Tempting, the ad on which she stops offers a free chat, given against good care. An announcement obviously too good to be true. Quickly, the sellers claim fees to send the animal, or even provide care.
It is ultimately the sum of 1250 euros that will pay this woman who nevertheless lives in precariousness. And she will never see the long-awaited cat.
As soon as she realized that she was the victim of a scam, the woman decided to file a complaint. As for the Leboncoin site, nothing will be done.
WARNING : Remember that even during a pandemic, you should never buy an animal without having the opportunity to meet it and see its environment. Ads offering free bred animals are scams that should not be acted upon.
