The 2,000 animals at the Amnéville zoo in Moselle require a lot of attention. The alleys of the zoo are empty: no visitors for almost four months. The only human presence is that of the employees. Thomas Grangeat is a specialist in animal behavior. Despite the absence of tourists, nothing should be changed in the habits of the animals in the park. The latter recognize the healers. “It does not change anything”, explains the interested party. They are a little more attentive to people passing in front of the enclosure because the people passing by are potentially caretakers. ”
In the tropical greenhouse, Thomas Grangeat comes to feed a very rare torture. She was born a few weeks ago, and weighs barely 50 grams. “It’s a birth that we weren’t really expecting”, he notes, because the reproduction of these turtles is extremely complicated. A little further on, you can hear the sound of drills. The zoo is taking advantage of the closure to carry out some work.
