A child walks into the store to choose glasses
This cat adopted by an optician works for a good cause with the little ones.
Choosing your glasses, especially when you’ve never had one, is always a little intimidating. We have to make choices and we are never sure that the glasses will fit us.
An extraordinary optician
An optician had the perfect idea to provide support to children who come to choose their glasses at the store. Danielle Crull is the head of A Child’s Eyes eyewear store in Pennsylvania.
In 2016, she adopted the pretty cat Truffles and gave her a very important role in her shop. Indeed, Truffles helps children choose their model of glasses by wearing glasses herself in the store.
Help children overcome their fears
Danielle has trained Truffles to wear over 20 pairs of glasses without lenses, a pair of sunglasses (with the lenses) and even an eye patch. This is because the eye patch is used in the treatment of amblyopia, a difference in visual acuity between the eyes.
The point is to show kids that they aren’t alone in wearing glasses and eye patches, and even cats can!
In this way, children feel reassured by the presence of Truffles and can more easily choose their frames. A great idea that seems to appeal to Truffles, and children!
A patch that suits him perfectly!
Such pretty eyes!
