This 15-year-old cat never stopped
Squishy, a 15-year-old cat, and her 17-year-old sister were saved from an uncertain fate three weeks ago. She became very attached to her rescuer and did not let him go.
Squishy and its sister were abandoned when their previous owners could no longer care for them. Karyn Poplin, founder of the Kitty Adventure Rescue League, offered to offer them a home at her cat sanctuary in Fort Worth, Texas.
A fusional friendship
As soon as the older cats moved into their new home, Squishy asked Karyn for a hug. Then a bond was formed between the two friends.
Squishy follows the volunteer all day without worrying about the other felines in the shelter. She needs all the attention of her human or else she will sulk.
“If I hold her, she smiles and purrs. I can go about my business. If I don’t hold her, she’s pissed off at me. If I bluntly ignore her she sneaks behind my back just to be near me “, Karyn told Love Meow.
Suddenly, the latter had a brilliant idea: “So, naturally, I bought a kind of baby carrier to satisfy her and also so that I can be free of my movements”, she explains.
And the volunteer is so attentive to the needs of her feline that she alternates between a baby carrier and a blanket to keep him warmer!
Since then, Squishy has spent his life purring. After being abandoned, the two kitties end their lives in a refuge filled with happiness. Squishy will certainly never be ready to leave the shelter even if she finds a family to welcome her.
