The teams of the 13 Heures de France Télévisions set out to discover sacred animals such as the cat, which is, for us, a simple pet. But in some countries he is sometimes considered a child of the family.
In China, owners are willing to pay 300 to 400 euros for an hour-long photo shoot, to freeze their little furballs in pictures. “We all want to have family photos. A cat is like a member of the family. It’s like taking a picture with your child. More and more people are doing this“, explains photographer Stella Zhang.
AT Beijing, cats do not run the streets: they are indoors in restaurants or cat bars. Customers come to relax, have a coffee or even have lunch among the felines. In these places, everything is to the glory of the cats. We find cats in paintings on the walls, but also in pastries on the plate. In a cat bar, around thirty felines live together, all colors and races combined. The first cat bars date back to 2011. In China, there are now more than 3,000. In Asia, the cat brings good luck: it is said that it attracts good luck and fortune.
